Tristania have a few weaknesses, which are mostly related to unrealized potential, but their music is truly intriguing and haunting for the deep-thinking listener. A lot of those goth-metal bands end up sounding dull or dreary, but Tristania have a truly haunting sound, and they're obviously among the best at mixing the power of metal with the true terrible beauty of goth.
There is very little of the previous sound but I did think three of the eight songs were better than average.
